Andy and family, August 2017: 4 adults, 3 teenagers, last week of august with fantastic weather. This house is right in the centre of the Gower coast and has a view straight on to the sea. It combines a quirky interior with modern kitchen and appliances throughout the house. The garden is large and well kept with beautiful flowers and a small herb garden, we didn’t bring our dogs due to logistics but would have felt comfortable with them in the large utility room at the side of the house. It’s so peaceful here and the robins in the garden almost ate out of our hands, there’s easy and hard walks on your doorstep. Try to time causeway at the worms head walk it’s worth the crossing. We were welcomed with local Welsh cakes a tea loaf. Local pub does great food at very reasonable prices, we self catered most meals (make sure you get the essentials as the store is a drive away), all the beaches are clean well kept and have life guards. This is the best holiday let we’ve stayed in and I can’t think of a single reason we wouldn’t return.

David and family, August 2017: Superb house for a coastal stay. We had 3 generations of our family staying and everything was catered for. Plenty of room and never felt cramped. Plenty of showers and toilets. Large garden with excellent view of the sea. Easy short walk to Port Eynon and coast path. All round a great place to stay and expect that we will be back again in the coming years! Many thanks.

Shirley and family, July 2017: Windy Ridge provided the perfect, tranquil place for a get away holiday. The house is so welcoming, well laid out and equipped with everything you could want, whatever your age. Instructions just where needed. Spotlessly clean, very modern, airy and light kitchen, plenty of space to relax, eat and enjoy the sea view. Rachel thinks of everything you might need, right down to slippers at the front door. Our Labrador felt like we did, and certainly had to be coaxed to get in the car when we left. Good space for your dog to sleep in the utility area (separate foyer). I really cannot think of one thing that was missing. The beds are extremely comfortable too (which is not always the case). With two bathrooms, another shower off the utility area and upstairs loo/sink, nobody ever had to queue. Rachel is always swift to respond if you have any query. The area itself is ideal as it’s right next to Gower’s coastal path and close to our favourite beaches at Rhossili and Mewslade (try the latter, park at Pitton Farm – £3 – and after 15 min walk you’re at a stunning surfing beach with few people). Thanks Rachel for giving us the means to have an amazing holiday. Shirley, Wendy, Declan (7 nights), Tara (3 nights) Tracey (1 night), Emma (4 nights) and Mila the dog (7 nights and desperate to return!).

Kevin and family, June 2017: This is the best place we have ever stayed in and given the chance we will be back. It is very well kitted out with just about everything. The garden is so beautiful and with the sun out its so so good for sunbathing looking at the sea views. Super family home for the best holiday on the Gower.

Kerrie and family, May 2017: This home is delightful. It has a unique feeling as soon as you walk in the door that is very welcoming and friendly. The house felt very spacious and light. The garden is amazing and great views overlooking the Gower and coastal footpath. It was a pleasant walk to the coastal footpath and the beach at Port Eynon is a wonderful stroll away. Great house to make a base for exploring all the Gower has to offer, especially the amazing beach at Rhossilli!! We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking. We also had two children under 3 and was very impressed with the layout. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may require. You will even get to practice your reversing skills, getting in and out of the driveway!!

Bronwen and family, March 2017: If you want a home away from away from home in a thoughtfully decorated and comfortable house, in a location full of day trips and beautiful scenery, this is the place. Our host was very good with communication, and was responsive to our queries. Her place is clean, stylish, and has almost all modern conveniences that a family could want. It was a very quiet home that’s warm and bright. My kids loved their bedrooms, one with it’s own playroom and bathroom upstairs. The beds were very comfortable. I wish my own house was as nice 🙂

Bethan and family, December 2016: Rachel was a fantastic host – very welcoming. The house was even better than the photos. Our children loved having their own space upstairs and their own private bathroom. It was the perfect location for walks along the coast and only 5 minutes walk from Port Eynon.

Steve and family, October 2016: Clean, cosy and well equipped house. Great views. A little outside Port Eynon, a 15 mins walk. Well placed for walks on the coastal path. Friendly neighbours. Great communications before hand with clear and detailed directions provided. Card and cake added to the welcome.

Rachel and family, September 2016: I don’t really know where to start. Firstly let me say, this is the first time in years I have actually cried when leaving a holiday location. We had the most magical stay in the Gower. The house is perfect, stylish, vibrant and unforgettable. We awoke every morning to the most beautiful sunrise over the sea and cliffs, and went to sleep every night to the biggest and brightest moon we have ever seen! Every inch of the cottage is oozing with character and charm. Touches of personality everywhere, you can’t help but smile every time you walk through the house. We were greeted with treats, cake and a birthday card for my husband, Peter. The beaches and cliffs of the Gower do not disappoint, huge stretches of golden sand in walking distance and short car journeys. Friendly and warm people everywhere, desperate to guide you to the most beautiful spots. The neighbours were lovely, and we even made friends with a fellow beagle owner down the road. Our beagles, Jeremy and Willow were besotted with the garden. A beautiful huge lawn ready to be raced around, whilst we could sit watching the sea (and keeping an eye on them!). We are heartbroken to be leaving, but cannot wait to return next summer. This house is a treasure, and it has been a huge part in a very memorable and special holiday. Rachel was amazing at keeping in touch, it is obvious from the first point of contact that she wants you to enjoy your stay and have a perfect holiday. Thank you Rachel and Sam, we truly had a wonderful time at Windyridge!

Richard and family, September 2016: Lovely view over the sea. Great property, very well and tastefully appointed. Lovely walks nearby. Garden was s good size to sit and laze or kick all ball around. Had a lovely week of sunshine in a beautiful area. Rhossili beach has got to be the most beautiful on earth.

Mike and family, August 2016: This is a lovely house in a wonderful setting offering great views towards the sea. For keen walkers, the coastal path passes very close to the house and a couple of rocky coves are 10 minutes walk away (great places for driftwood fires!). The coastline is stunning here (think Cornwall without the crowds!). The walk from here to Rhossili must rank is one of the most beautiful in the UK. The house is much more spacious on the inside than the exterior suggests and the addition of a conservatory is a bonus as it provides a scenic setting for any meals – we ate all ours there. Rachel provides virtually everything you could possibly need e.g. sheets, towels, loo and kitchen rolls, washing up liquid, liquid soap, dishwasher tabs, refuse sacks etc etc so very little needs to be taken. The kitchen is very well appointed. Rachel provides a welcome pack with tea, coffee, cake, jam etc and then invites you to help yourself to other goodies in the cupboard. A local mini supermarket in Scurlage (5 mins drive) is well stocked and Sainsburys (Tescos too I think) deliver here. The Freeview TV was very welcome as the Olympics were on and the wifi was used by all. This was useful as only 2 x mobile networks cover this area (not O2). Rachel was very willing to answer any questions both before we arrived and after and was the perfect Airbnb host. I would highly recommend this house and I can say my family had a brilliant time here.

Victoria and family, July 2016: Rachel’s home was perfect for us (with a baby and pre-schooler and dog). Massive garden to play in with a wonderful view. Everything you would need in the kitchen, with some lovely surprises (delicious Welsh cake). Comfortable beds and great showers. Rachel has provided lots of kit to help you have a comfortable stay.  We were fortunate with sunny weather, so ate in the conservatory rather than the dining room to take in that view. The walk to the beach at Port Eynon is easily doable.  I would highly recommend this house and hope to be able to return on day.

Caroline and family, July 2016: Lovely house in perfect location for peaceful walking and beach holiday. All our family were very happy with space, facilities and furnishings. Really was even better than the photos, maybe we should keep it a secret!

Julie and family, June 2016: The listing is better than I could have thought! I felt a lot of pressure being the one to book a family vacation for 7, but the first thing people said was can we stay longer. Rachel was so welcoming and had a few special things for us to eat and enjoy. It couldnt have been better. We were able to go to award winning beaches by foot and car and could see the beautiful ocean from the house.

Helen and friends, May 2016: Rachel was a great host making us feel very welcome at the house. The house itself is beautiful, everything is well thought out to make for a easy care free stay. Well positioned on the cliff tops overlooking the beach and within easy commute to several fantastic beaches. The garden was a hit with the lovely weather we had, all in all a very relaxing, wonderful weekend!

Michelle and family, May 2015: Rachel was a great host. She replied quickly to all of our questions and added lots of nice extra touches such as surprising us with lovely local cheese and cake when we arrived. The house is beautiful (even nicer than in the pictures) situated in a great little village right on the costal path. We had a great stay, my favourite Airbnb yet! Hope to visit again soon….

Naomi and family, April 2016: Such an amazing welcome made the journey worthwhile. Its a great space with brilliant views from the sunroom and loads of space to run around outside. The decor is spot on and every room is well equipped (from the kitchen to the bookshelves). We particularly enjoyed the games selection. Its easy to stroll to the beach or a short drive to other places to explore.

Nick and family, April 2016: Every now and then you stay somewhere where you can see yourself living and this was one of those places – its a delightful house, decorated with such love and care in a perfect location. We loved all the personal touches from the owners that made us feel at home straight away and waking up to see the sea every morning was just perfect. The garden was well used on our stay and it was a lovely place to stop and relax after a day’s walking. We were fortunate to have sunshine on our visit and trips to nearby Rhossili, Port Eynon and Three Cliffs Bay were magical. We were also fortunate to have timed it right to get over to Worm’s Head for the first time also. For walkers such as ourselves, the proximity to the Coastal path was a boon. For all of us (Adults, teens, kids and a dog) this house ticked every box and we hope it won’t be long before we come back and stay again. Perfect, thank you.
